Last weekend our friends Jol and Lee came to visit. It was really fun. The best 2 things were the Braves game-which we won and I got to drink beer…mmm…beer. The other best thing was going to the aquarium. We used the baby backpack for the first time and it was SO convenient. No worrying about stairs, you could navigate crowds easily, you didn’t have to park the stroller outside exhibits, and Ona loved it…she peed in it, which my friend Katie says is a sign of affection:)
It was super cute b/c this time Ona was much more aware of the aquarium. Looking at the fish, smiling, and interactive. It makes me so happy to see her so happy.
Eric and I are very excited because several of our friends are expecting. It’s cool b/c our kids will be around the same ages and can play. It’s also interesting to see how other people do things and learn from them. Today is Colleen Wessell-McCoy’s baby shower. She’s about 8 months prego and looks so healthy and cute! Looking at her makes me forget the scary times of being pregnant and having Ona so early and just remember the 5-6 weeks of feeling so healthy and happy.
This October I turn 30 and Eric and I have been talking about going to Hawaii and leaving Ona with family here. Last night we did a kind of test run leaving her at my folks to them to put down while we got down at ribfest. She typically starts going to bed at 7 and is asleep by 730. Let’s just say she was still awake at 930! It makes me super anxious about leaving her. I know she’d be in good hands, but maybe we should take her….then she’d have to endure the long plane trip. Maybe we should just wait until she’s older?
My friend Lauren told me her folks went to Hawaii for 5 days when she was 7 and her brother was 5. Apparently, her mom cried when she left and made them come home 2 days early. I can definitely see myself doing something like that.
